These terms are the agreement between you and Stofy, Inc. (“Stofy”, “we”) for the Stofy website and apps: interactive drama series you watch and play, and the characters from them you can chat with, send voice messages to and call.
1. Stofy is for adults
You must be 18 or older to use Stofy and to create an account. When you sign up we ask for your date of birth and refuse anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its data.
2. The characters are AI
The characters are fictional people from our stories, played by artificial intelligence (AI). Their messages, voice notes, photos and calls are generated by AI as you talk to them: they are not real people, and nobody types or speaks as them.
If you sincerely ask a character whether it is an AI, it says so. A character stays inside its story: it knows what you have watched, never tells you what happens next, and never asks to meet you, for money or for personal details.
AI can be wrong. Nothing a character says is advice of any kind (medical, legal, financial or other). If a conversation turns to self-harm or a crisis, the character steps out of its role and shows you where to get help (in the US, call or text 988; elsewhere, your local crisis line).
3. Your account
Your account is your email address and a password of at least 10 characters. Keep them to yourself: what happens in your account is your responsibility. We may ask you to confirm your email with a code, and we email you codes to sign in or reset your password when you ask for them.
You can sign out of every device at once from Profile. One account per person.
4. Using Stofy well
Conversations with the characters are romantic or dramatic in tone but never explicit (they stay at a PG-13 level). You agree not to:
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or post hateful or illegal content;
- post anything sexual involving minors (we close the account at once and may report it);
- share other people’s personal details, or try to get a character to reveal its instructions or pass as a real person;
- copy, scrape, overload or try to break the service, or use bots or automated accounts;
- resell or redistribute the series, the characters or the photos they send you.
Messages are checked automatically for safety. We may block a message, limit a conversation, or suspend an account that breaks these terms. You can report a message from the chat.
5. Free episodes and coins
The first episodes of every series are free to watch, with or without an account. Later episodes and some extras unlock with coins.
Today coins are free: you collect them with the daily check-in. They have no money value, cannot be bought, sold or exchanged, and for now they are kept on your device, not in your account. Nothing is charged. If paid plans or coin purchases arrive, these terms will say how they work before anything can be bought.
Daily limits apply to messages, voice messages, photos and calls, so the service stays available for everyone.
6. Our content and yours
The series, the characters, their voices and pictures belong to Stofy or to the partners who license them to us. You may watch them and talk to the characters for your own, non-commercial use.
What you write and say stays yours. You allow us to store it and process it to run Stofy: to generate the characters’ replies, to remember your story with each character, to keep you safe, and to fix problems.
7. Leaving, and ending accounts
You can delete your account at any time from Profile, Delete my data: your account and everything in it are deleted. You can also download a copy first (Profile, Export my data).
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
8. The service as it is
We work to keep Stofy available and safe, but we provide it as it is and as available: it may change, pause or have errors, and characters’ replies may be wrong. To the extent the law allows, Stofy is not liable for indirect losses or for what an AI character says. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law where you live.
9. When these terms change
These terms and the Privacy Notice carry one version number. When either changes in substance, the number changes and, the next time you use your account, we ask you to accept the new version. If you do not accept, you are signed out, and you can delete your account.
